New York City residents will soon have the option to choose between a gray and white bedroom.
The city is planning to adopt a code of ethics that will set guidelines for the types of rooms that can be purchased.
The city council is expected to vote on the guidelines by Tuesday.
They will be made available to residents on Jan. 14, the city said in a statement.
The codes will be enforced by a local housing authority.
Residents can also purchase the grey bedroom for $4,700.
The guidelines are aimed at helping residents understand how the city can provide safe, affordable housing for all New Yorkers.
While the codes will apply to every type of bedroom, they do not apply to bedrooms that are larger than 3.6 square feet.
The current city code states that any gray bedroom must be at least 4 square feet and be furnished with a bed, table, and desk.
